Where the rich get richer and…

You’ve heard that before?

Well yes,

The rich get richer, but also

Poor colored communities

Continue to get worse

And worse and worse

What does worse really mean?

Well,

Do you think they are happy?

With crime and poverty

Creating a dangerous environment in which

To raise children

Children that will carry on their

Legacy

Their stories

Their history

Their traditions

Straight to the early grave

When all many of them want is

A bit more of the happiness

Promised to them by the commercials

From the companies

Headed by the rich

That get richer

By “utilizing” good little consumers

And hoping they don’t stop

Their endless consumption

Of the goods

That keep rising and rising and

Rising in price

Where will it end?

Well for many colored people,

It seems to end in violence,

In gunshots

In jail

As the cycle continues

And the status quo

Marches on into the

Future that no one figured

Would be this way,

Well, no one except those rich

Who get richer

From the rest of us,

But for what do we really care?
